I tried to log onto to q&a but when i entered my information it asked for another set of account information. Do I need a WordPress account? This wasn't really explained in the email or forum post.

indeed, sorry! If you have a bome (wordpress) account (from ordering), use that one. Otherwise, create a new one. The forum log in does not work.
