One of my users reported that he couldn't get short portnames (BMT1) after changing the settings. Same after a hard reboot.
On my system, however, it works fine.
Is there any problem reported before with short names?
As long port names are the default, I will just ignore them moving forward.

I have never noticed this as an issue and use short port names almost exclusively. There are no reported issues with this in the version history. If you can tell me the currently running version of MT Pro and the platform (Windows or Mac and what version) , I can look into it further.

Since this is a second hand issue, and unheard before by you guys, lets close this.
In my side I’ve now moved to long port names, which is the default anyway (as of 1.8.4).
