Hi
Will the bome network 1.2.1 software work in win 7 as a midi reciever to get midi into Ableton Live ?
I am using set list maker which runs on android and sends midi over wifi to my router
I need to get midi out of network to send to Ableton in my computer Or do I have to wait for the tablet version and run bome network pro in both devices
It would be even better If I could just get the network midi out of bome midi translator since It running anyway
Thanks

Hi,
Currently Bome Network Pro runs on Mac, Windows PC, and BomeBox. It does not currently run on Android or iOS.
So to get MIDI into your MAC or PC over a network, you would need to use AppleMIDI (on MAC) or rtmidi on PC. On PC, rtmidi is an open source third party downloadable application. There may be other network MIDI applications available as well.
Sorry!

Hi
I think you misunderstood the point.
Midi is already in the network via wifi from the set list maker app android device and wifi router is connected to pc via ethernet so the midi is already “available” inside the pc I just need to get it out of the network and into ableton ableton needs a port from wifi will bome currently do this?
will the current bome 1.2.1 software do this or will it only “talk” to other bome network which is still under development for android and ios?
I can not run rtpmidi in the pc because I can not find a win xp version rtp it will only run win 7 and up
I also have bome midi translator 1.72 running fine in win xp I have the newest bome midi translator running in my win 7 machine but I also need network midi in win xp machine and was not sure if bome 121 network would work or it only talks to other bome network
thanks

If you have an exposed MIDI port on your XP PC from your Android, and you want to make it available on your Win7 PC, then yes.
On your XP PC, you could route the existing MIDI port to Bome Network (Running on the same PC) that runs over to your Bome Network Port running on Win 7. So that path would be
Android -> Exposed MIDI Port on XP PC -> Route (with MT Pro) -> Exposed Network virtual port on Win7 PC -> Route (with MT Pro) to Bome MIDI Translator Virtual Port -> Ableton Live.
In the future, Bome Network will have it’s own MIDI port routing capabilities. When this becomes available, you could do the routing directly with its MIDI router.
Reading about Bome Network, it looks like it is also compatible with XP.
I believe licensing is per PC (concurrently) so you may need to purchase another MT Pro license. You could purchase the Bome Network Pro license now and then once you are sure everything is working, come back to purchase the license for your Win 7 PC (unless you already purchase one).
