Hey Gang
So I recently found BMT and it is a god send. Recently updated to Adobe Audition annd had an old Evolution UC-33 MIDI controller I wanted to use to mix down some tracks.
BMT is working great for what I need it, and there are a few learning curve things I am working through - the forums here have been beneficial.
However: I am wondering if BMT can be programmed that when I move the fader on the controller, it does NOT move the fader in Audition until the fader level has been passed.
Example: Mixer Channel #1 is showing a level of -6dB from unity. The corresponding fader on the controller is way down toward the bottom, maybee at MIDI level 10 (?). I would like it so that the fader in Audition does not move until I reach the same level on the controllers fader... I can move the fader up (in this example) without it changing in Audition until it reads the same -6dB level and then will move in sync with the controller.
I know there are some hardware controllers that act this way. Is this a software and hardware compatibility thing, or is it something that be be programmed through BMT?
Thanks!

Hi, it depends on whether Adobe Audition is sending out MIDI back to Bome MIDI Translator. In order for this to work with Bome (or any other application) we have to know where the fader currently is in order to determine whether messages send to the application are suppressed.
So the questions are:
1) Does Adobe Audition send MIDI position information out when adjusting the faders on screen?
2) If so, what are is it sending
You can probably look at MT Pro to discover whatever Audition sends, if any. However if there are no outgoing ports to set up in Audition, it probably does not send MIDI information.

OK, so Audititon CAN send MIDI data. I just did a "Capture MIDI" in BMT while I moved a virtual fader in AA.
The next better question would be: Is there a way for BMT to take a snapshot of the controls in AA somehow? Some script somewhere to ping each channel at startup, or something similar? Just asking. I've got a couple of questions for support at adobe about this stuff too, and i'll ask while I'm talking with them!
Thanks steve! and anyone else!

SJC> You would have to ask Adobe, but I suspect not. I think the best you can do is just monitor the output from AA as you change controls on screen and set global variables accordingly.
Search the board for "takeover" or "pickup" and you can probably find some examples of how to do this. If not, I'll probably have to research my archives or recreate this.
