No real reproduction I would say, but deleting this one particular translator in my project closes the MIDI input for a launch pad that seemingly has nothing to do with the translator. I noticed that, by accident when creating the translator, I have selected the alias for LP Mini 3 aswell as the actual LP Mini input. But in the second picture you can see that the input for LP mini 1 has been closed after the problematic translator has been deleted.

Hi Jesse,
First, "Incoming" will only show incoming messages if:
- A translator is active to see it
- The incoming port is open for that translator
In contrast, "MIDI IN" should be checked if you want to see incoming messages for all open ports regardless of whether a translator is set to monitor the message.
Also, ports are opened based on which ports are checked at the project, preset and translator level.
I typically check all ports I'm going to use at the project level.
Then at the preset level, I override which ports are used for that preset (overides the project level)
Then on an exception basis, I override the preset and project level ports U want to use by checking the ports I want to use at the translator level.
The below tutorial should explain things pretty well for you. If not, let me know.

Hey Steven,
Thanks for the explanation. I am still a little confused as to why deleting a translator closes the MIDI input for a Launch Pad that is still being used for over 1000 translators.

Open it at the project level and it should not close the port.
