Hello. I'm new to the forum and to BOME software.
I'm interested in purchasing BOME Translator to recreate the functionality of the Vidami pedal on the midi foot controller I already own. Can BOME do this? Would I just have to figure the keyboard commands that the pedal is already set to?

Hi,
Looking at the documentation, I can't tell whether it is a MIDI pedal or some other sort of USB HID device type. If you have the pedal connected to your computer, download the Free Trial Copy of Bome MIDI Translator Pro. Open it up and look at devices to see if your pedal shows up there. If it looks like it is there, check the input box. Open the log window in Bome MIDI Translator Pro and push a few buttons of the pedal to see if you get any MIDI information.
The first two tutorials should help you navigate around within the Bome MIDI Translator Pro software.

I don't think it is a MIDI pedal. You might want to look into the Logidy UMI3 if you want a MIDI pedal about that size. It only has 3 buttons however. Or maybe the Disaster Area Designs MIDI Baby 3 (which you can attach 2 external footswitches to get more pedals

My guess is that it’s some sort of a HID device that interfaces with commands that YouTube videos respond to via a Chrome plugin. Some things are basic keyboard commands like stop/start/rewind/fast forward. Other things are buried in options/contextual menus on YouTube: playback speed and loop start/end. If keyboard commands exist for the more advanced functions, I’m guessing I could make it happen. They advertise ”easy plug and play integration” with some other online instructional platforms. My cynical brain thinks that means their videos just respond to the same commands.
I already have a Morningstar MC8. It’s quite programmable and customizable, hence my interest to use it for this purpose. If I can figure out keyboard commands for the more advanced functions, I think I may be good to go.
