I have a midi controller where one fader seems to be defect.
The fader send his value all the time.
So its impossible to map anything in ableton to my controller,
because ableton always gets the midi value from the defect fader.
Is there an easy way how i can filter this message out with bomes.
Without having to configure all the working parameters also in Bomes.

I believe yes.

Create a new preset and a new translator.
Choose Incoming -> MIDI -> CC
Then click on "Capture MIDI".
You will see the incoming MIDI data.
Click on it and then check the field Swallow MIDI.

Later you must link your MIDI device to the virtual router.
In your DAW, the MIDI-In of your device must not be its default MIDI-In,
but the Bome Virtual port.

Let me know if you have any problems.

Hi Flamusic

As an alternative, just create a translator for that fader, set the incoming message as its message, and set the outgoing message to none. That should prevent the MIDI message from passing on.

Thanks

Hello flamusic!

Led-manipulation of a controller: It depends from the controller...

Most controllers allow manipulations of their leds. Usually they light their controllers, when a special Midi-command
is send to them:
Example: The controller sends 90 41 7f as ingoing code, then normally the same code puts on the led:
you have to send the same code 90 41 7f as outgoing in a seperate translator to your controller.
But it depends, as said, from the controller: you have to look in the handbook of your controller.
Some leds change also their colour, and they are waiting for a special code for the special colour,
may be: 90 41 01 for red, 90 41 02 for yellow, you see: the last byte is normally the key for the colour.
I use some controllers for different programs, and everyone reacts different.
Please tell us, which controller you use, may be, someone here know the concrete answer.
