MT in parallel or only in series?

Im using a Berringer FCD Foot Pedal / Edirol FA101 Sound Card / MT / Ableton 6.

Currently i have the foot pedal controlling midi assignable funtions on Abelton. I want to use MT to control Keystrokes in abelton.

Do i need to move all control through the MT then to abelton, or is it possible to keep the foot pedal controlling what it currently does (direct from Edirol to Ableton) and in parallel be running MT for keystrokes?

Normally, it's necessary to route the MIDI flow through Midi Translator (i.e. in serial). However, some MIDI drivers allow the MIDI input to be opened by multiple applications, you should try it!

Otherwise, the serial solution will work with a virtual MIDI cable to connect Midi Translator's MIDI OUT to Ableton's MIDI IN.
