Having trouble with 'Kid Beyond' Style Looping using a PK..

i don't have a footpedal like in his video, but is there a way I could hit a pad on my padkontrol to trigger loop recording like in the video? I attempted to apply this with a padkontrol but it isn't working right...

BTW, i'm only using vst's...


I'm new to this, so any help would be great!
