Ableton Live and midi controller setup problems

I cannot seem to get my midi contoller to flow through to the program, I can get my guitar in, but the midi goes through the usb port not the mixer, and I'm not getting any signal. Any help from someone who has been through this, would be appreciated....thanks in advance.

I don't know what could be the problem... I'd need much more info. Can you describe your setup completely, with product names, what you're using them for, and which cables you've connected from where to where and which software should get used, and how.

Hi Thanks for your reply, I am using:

Ableton Live 6.0.5, with linplug drum s/w.

The midi controller is an Oxygen 8 from maudio, I've plugged that into a usb port with a typical usb cable. My understanding is that it should work like that, buy I can't seem to get the signal to "flow thru" as they say.

Anything else you need, don't hesitate to ask.

in Ableton Live's MIDI settings, select and enable the Oxygen 8 MIDI INPUT (it may also be named "USB Audio Device"). That should do it.
