Hi guys..!! I'm Jacopo from Rome and i'm 15! I need help with one thing: on My bcd 2000 i've 6 pots! There's a way to multiply the Number of pots by pressing a button and turn the relative pot?

Bye, see u soon!

Yes there is, it sounds like a shift function you'll be looking for.....

The simplest way is to set up a global variable for each button that mean that when the buttons pressed say gb=1 and when it's released gb=0

Then for each of the knobs you want to check if gb=0 then allow the standard message through whereas if gb=1 your output could be say the same midi control and cc but maybe one midi channel higher....

(Sorry i can't do the print out of rules thing other people do i'm just trying to help as this is possibly the best forum ever for helping people and i want to pay something back!)

Cheers

Thanks you for the reply. I'm very new in this world. I don't know how to set a global variable (it's a incoming on an outcoming?) Please help me, can you describe me the process i've to do to this? Thank you so much!

Edit: I tried to do that but i had some problems. I've made a preset with the shift on/off state: when the button is pressed it calls another preset. But when i go in Ableton to assign the knob he recognises it as another knob but when i move it with the shift button pressed also the original knob moves together with the "shifted"...What i've to do?

Help me!

Wicked you've made excellent steps....

Under the translator for the midi knob you need to select the swallow midi message and don't pass on to ports option...

This way only your translated function will reach it's destination and not the original message....

The rest is simple as they say!

Good Luck!

I didn't understand what you said. When I have to select the "swallow"?

Thank you for your patience!

That's ok,

Underneath the incoming section for the rule you've set up for your midi knob you'll see a little tick box that says to "swallow midi message" you need to ensure that this is ticked otherwise the normal midi gets through along with your translated midi!

yeah, that's the old version...
jac123, check out the Outgoing tab. There should be a checkbox "do not output to MIDI Thru" or something like that (from memory).

You should probably upgrade to the 1.7 version...

Florian

PS: greeting to my second home, Rome!

right, it's the "Output both translated..." checkbox. This one you need to UNCHECK.

In newer versions of Midi Translator, it's replaced by the checkbox "swallow...", which you need to CHECK (only for this problem here).

Thanks,
Florian
