How to use outgoing action type wm_messages

About the only thing I haven't figured out AT ALL is how to use wm_messages. The manual specifically doesn't even touch on this, and thus far I haven't been able to get ANY results in these forums.

I would really appreciate a simple example of what/how this function can be used. I'm somewha familiar with the fields, but a working example is certanly in order. Obviusly I'm on Win - maybe you could use something common like keystrokes targetting notepad (when it's not active)?

Thanks in advance, I would think this will be beneficial to many users - at least to dispell the mystery.

Not sure about WM_Messages at large, but I posted a tutorial on using WM_Commands here that might help you get started. FYI, the Winspector link in that thread is dead. You can find it here.

Thanks for the input - now I have a place to start. I don't know why I could never get ANY results when searching any combination with wm_messages, but maybe this thread will show up for future searchers.
